Here’s what we have been up to of late, but please browse the website to learn about much more of our activities all done in friendship and charity…..

Would you like to join us?

The only prerequisite is that you are a Master Mason in good standing (being a current and paid up member of a Lodge) and own a motorbike.

If you ride a bike and are considering joining Freemasonry, you can join our affiliate group, the ‘Bad Pennies’ and partake in our rides whilst you join and attain your 3rd degree in Freemasonry.

Go to our Contact page for more information.

CWSMBA Members dug deep in their pockets so we could donate 2 new mobile phones to the Wirral Community Narrowboat Trust (WCNT).

Pictured left are our current and former Presidents handing the phones to the Chairman of the Trust, Mr Keith Dodd.

WCNT are a local charity who have 2 purpose built narrowboats. They aim to seek to improve the quality of life for people who by virtue of age, infirmity, physical disability, mental disorder or social factors are disadvantaged or deprived.

The phones will be an important addition to aid communication and safety as they are often in remote parts of the canal network in Cheshire.

You can find out more about the Trust at www.wcnt.org.uk

Cheshire Widows Sons are constantly recruiting fellow bikers and new members into Freemasonry.

On the left we have Chris Jones and on the right Roy Davies, who were both recently initiated into Northwich Lodge 428 and supported by some of their biking brothers!

Once you join Freemasonry and work to your 3rd degree, we will then perform a ‘patching’ ceremony, which formally welcomes you as a Widows Son with our approved Masonic patch and a road name to be sewn onto your cut, which is not mandatory, but adds to the colour and symbolism of Masonic roots. You do not have to be a Freemason to join our activities and to accommodate friends, family and interested persons, we have a sub-group called the ‘Bad-Pennies’. Contact us for more information.

One of our more recent additions, following ‘Sat-Navs’ 3rd degree, he was ‘patched’ at the festive board at Macclesfield Masonic Hall

Once a month we meet for breakfast at various venues around the County. This can be accompanied with a ride out, or family occasion with an open invite to our neighbouring WS Chapters. A most sociable occasion for all attending.

our nominated Charity for 2021 - 22 is

Cheshire Young Carers

A worthy charity who offer support to children aged between 6-18 who care for a family member they live with. Cheshire Young Carers helps to give them a childhood.

Every Year (April-March) the members of Cheshire Widows Sons nominate several charities to be our main source of donations that we wish to raise funds for in the coming year. Members then vote from the nominations, then the wheels start turning for various fundraising projects for the main and other charities to whom we will donate to.

In 2019-20 we raised £1,500.00 for Prostate Cancer and last year (2020-21) once lockdown was lifted, we made a donation of £1,500.00 to ‘Blood Bikes’, a group of volunteers who transport much needed supplies between hospitals. Some of our members also volunteer with this worthy cause.

Sunday 15th May 2022 - We held our AGM at Cheshire View, which was well attended by our patched members. Many issues were discussed by way of taking us forward into 2023 including our newly nominated charity The Joshua Tree. We also agreed to contribute £1000 to our Charity for 2021-22, Cheshire Young Carers (more to follow).

Amongst our plans for the next year, we had to vote on the position of Vice President, won by a close margin to Guy Story. Well done for members putting themselves forward!

Keep calling back to see more of our activities including rides out, supporting charity events and the forthcoming National Widows Sons Rally.
